From November 23 to 27 the Canal Futura TV station will broadcast a series of programs on extreme climate events, among them the debate “Climate Impacts in the South”, which was produced in partnership with Fundação Bunge and FURB TV. The debate will count on the presence of  Minister of Cities Marcio Fortes, Santa Catarina state deputy governor Leonel Pavan, José Marengo, a meteorologist from INPE, the National Institute of Space Research and geologist Juarês Aumond. The program will  present technical, scientific and public policy viewpoints on the events that took place in Santa Catarina in November, 2008, along with lessons learned and what paths should now be taken to mitigate or avoid new events.
